The Wooden Toy Truck - Lyrics

1. The Wish To Forget
I used to practice the act of forgetting.
I had a wooden toy truck.
Two wooden doors could open to reveal the deep cargo compartment.
Every now and then I would hide a surprise for myself in the compartment.
It could be a small teddy bear, a letter or a cookie.
I would carefully close the door and put the truck back in the closet.

Then I would do my best to forget.

Hours, days or weeks later, when I had finally managed to forget what I left in the truck, I would find it again in the closet.

With excitement I would open the small wooden doors to the cargo compartment.
I would put my hand into the dark box and reach for the surprise.

2. Secret Service
I, I don't know you
And you don't me
And no one can see
What is to be
Honored to be
And that is the question
Secrets to keep

Trying to unlock you
Trying to believe that
I am on a mission
Caught in truth and fiction
Running up the high street
Going down the side street
Standing in the corner
Baby I've been watching

Secret
Like the secret service you're secret
Whahahahahaha
Secret
Like the secret service you're secret
Whahahahahaha

3. Faroese Outlaws
The Danish coast disappears in the horizon
Immediately the clouds thicken
Big bulky and black skyline
Below us the ship keeps spinning

We’re in the same boat
Faroese outlaws

I’m longing for coffee but I buy red wine
The wind makes it hard to write
We’re passing tiny boats, sailboats
A variety of passenger languages mixes

We’re in the same boat
Faroese outlaws

4. Crater
It’s the leftovers from contact
The prettiest scar in my orbit
Absence not a word about emptiness
Crater is no void it’s a memory

Crater
What you left behind
Crater
And I call it mine
Crater
What you left behind
Crater

Now you’ve been away for a century
Silence seems to take on its shape and glance
Loss that only feeds my serenity
Rescue is received by resistance

Crater
What you left behind
Crater
And I call it mine
Crater
What you left behind
Crater
It’s mine

I recall myself how I used to be
Smooth, unbroken, complete in satiny
A mark remains where junction was broken
Fill the blanks by leaving them open

Crater
What you left behind
Crater
And I call it mine
Crater
What you left behind
Crater
It’s mine

5. ASMR
A S M R
What’s your trigger?
A S M R
Gives you vigor

A S M R
Makes you tingle
A S M R
Watch my fingers

A water drop
And a pleasure response
Stereophonic
Tapping and scratch
And a pleasure response
Stereophonic

Shiver
A S M R
Caring roleplay
A S M R
Cause me to stay

A S M R
Simply pleasant
A S M R
Sooths my present

Shiver

6. Unturned Stones
Let yourself be
Lead by wonder
Keep a steady pace

Count until that
Magic number
Leave a hidden trace

Ahead awaits a
Fortune for my
Treasure hunter

Unturned Stones

Release release
The message of the unknown

Keep your trust
In questions
Don’t stop questioning

What deserves your
Attention
Where you’re settling

Unturned stones

Release release
The message of the unknown

7. Send Listen
Send listen
Change between the channels
Send listen
Tell about this travel

It’s a timeless existence
An electric connection

This invisible safety
Makes me disappear bravely
This is not present
It’s most isolated
Shield against loneliness

Listen
Change between the channels
Send listen
Tell about this travel

Constant attachment
Despite endless distance

This semi presence
Delayed with a second
This is not present
It’s a space we shape
Our method to relate

Send listen
Change between the channels
Send listen
Tell about this travel

This is not present
It’s a space we shape

8. Wir Bauen Für Sie
Stau
Und Autobahn
Hallo Dieter
Wie Geht’s, Dieter?

I am on the Autobahn
But I am in a traffic jam
Listening to the radio
And waiting here to get a "Go"

Wir bauen
Autobahn
Wir bauen
Traffic Jam
Wir Bauen
Autobahn
Wir bauen, bauen

Stau
Immer Stau
3 Kilometer
Dieter
An die Tankstelle will Ich warten
Dieter
DIETER?

Wir bauen
Autobahn
Wir bauen
Traffic jam
Wir bauen
Autobahn
Wir bauen, bauen
DIETER?

9. The Triumph Of Jupiter
Jupiter
Peculiar
The greatest of them all
Little did I know
That one day
Yes I’ll go
Jupiter
Peculiar
Thus all ends
